'Ere! It's Just Like Dancin' On Ice!

29 March 09: Aside from theatres, Ugly Duckling company also spends part of their tour in schools, mostly in the Bristol/Bath area. Last week saw the final school of the show – St Stephens Primary in Bath – for the next two months we’ll be exclusively in theatres.  There is a different energy when playing in a school – of course there are no lights, no stage, and big echo-y gymnasiums, but the children themselves react differently to what is happening.  They are more comfortable in the familiar environment, surrounded by friends rather than parents and strangers, and everyone is more vocal, more exuberant, the things they say more extreme. We've had fabulous feedback from students and teachers (it really is a lovely, lovely show) but every once in a while a kid will say sth unexpected. Hence the title of this entry…
